Day Shelter

Shelter Use Statistics:
54% of clients use the shelter for two weeks or less.
28% of clients use the shelter 3 - 12 weeks.
18% of clients use the shelter 3 months or more.

During 2008, the MHA Day Shelter served an average of 74 persons per day.

More than 80% of clients accessing day shelter services for 30 days or more secured transitional, supportive, or permanent housing prior to exiting our services.

More than 85% of clients
accessing day shelter services for 30 days or more increased their income prior to exiting our services.

 
The Day Shelter is open
every day of the year, serving
local residents who are
experiencing homelessness.


Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

The Day Shelter provides daily and emergency services including:
• Shelter
• Three meals daily
• Showers
• Personal hygiene items
• Clean towels
• Phone and phone number for applications
• Mail distribution and address for applications

The Day Shelter also provides:
Crisis intervention
Emergency services
Healthcare
Clothing
Employment assistance
Financial assistance
Housing assistance
Mental health screenings
Social Security assistance
Representative Payee Services
