A new psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner program is coming to Purdue University. It's an effort to help with a shortage of a mental health providers in the area.
QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer. These are three steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide. Just like CPR, QPR is an emergency response to someone in crisis and can save lives.
In this 2 hour training, QPR will teach you some of the warning signs of suicide, how to ask the difficult suicide question, as well as how to persuade and refer and individual to get appropriate help.
This training will be FREE courtesy of Indiana University Health. Registration is required. Email Karla Courtney at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 765.742.1800.
